How Nobody Knows handles anonymous participation, technical data, and cookies.

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Introduction

Nobody Knows is an anonymous social experiment operated by Epikturus. We do not ask you to create an account or provide your real name. This policy explains what we process when you use the site.

This document is a structural template, not legal advice. Contact us at [email protected] with privacy questions.

Data we collect

You may submit user-generated text (decisions, sentences, secrets, guesses, and similar content). We store this content to run the experiment and show it to other anonymous visitors according to each app's rules.

We issue an anonymous session token (JWT) so you can participate without signing in. We also remember locale and content-filter preferences when you change them.

How we process data

We hash IP addresses for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Server logs may record request metadata for security and reliability. Automated filters may mask or reject content that looks like email, phone numbers, links, or usernames.

We do not sell personal data. Processing is limited to operating Nobody Knows, keeping the service secure, and improving the experience in aggregate.

Cookies

The table below lists cookies used on this site. Essential cookies are required for the experiment to work. Analytics cookies load only if you accept non-essential cookies.

Third parties

Google Analytics 4 (Google) may receive usage data if you consent to analytics cookies. Google processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not embed other advertising or social trackers on Nobody Knows.

Retention

Anonymous session data is kept for as long as needed to operate your visit and prevent abuse. User-generated content may remain visible to others according to each experiment's design.

Server logs and security records are retained for a limited period, then deleted or aggregated.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data under GDPR, KVKK, or similar laws.

Because sessions are anonymous, we may need additional information you provide to locate related data. Email [email protected] to exercise your rights.

Changes

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.

Continued use of Nobody Knows after changes means you accept the updated policy.
